Prodigal Son of Alabama: Jalen Hurts Named Oklahoma Starting Quarterback for Season Opener

Well, I think I can speak for us all when I say we saw this coming, we just didn’t know it would happen this fast. On Monday afternoon, Oklahoma Football head coach, Lincoln Riley, tabbed Jalen Hurts, an Alabama transfer quarterback, as his starter for the Sooners season opener on September 1st, 2019 vs. Houston at 6:30pm. It was just meant to be. During his time in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Hurts showcased his skills from 2016 to 2018 and during the offseason, announced his transferral to Norman, Oklahoma and The University of Oklahoma. In Tuscaloosa, Jalen relished in the spotlight often, taking the Tide to three national title games and winning one national title. I guess you could say that Jalen Hurts is the prodigal son of Alabama. Thousands around the nation have wished him well this season, and I will not be the exception. Best of luck Jalen. I’m looking forward to seeing how you perform in Norman. The world is watching. However, no Jalen, I will not say what people from Tuscaloosa, Alabama or Norman, Oklahoma, say. Just know I support you.
