It’s Time To Turn Off the TV and Turn Toward The Bible

Ever since this pandemic started several months ago, I haven’t watched the news, I’ve avoided watching tv as much as possible.

Every night before drifting off to sleep, I try to read the Bible. Recently, I read Isiah 41:10 and it got me thinking, you know, we may act like sports need to hurry up and resume, but they can wait.

Just yesterday, a friend of mine posted on Snapchat a picture that read “Sometimes, you are delayed because God knows that there is a storm headed right in your direction.” I can’t think of a more fitting picture to post during times like these.

There is light at the end of this pitch black tunnel that we are all in right now. Someday, we will be giving hugs again to the ones that we love and shaking hands with friends.

There will be a day when we don’t have to be six feet apart. There will be a day when we go back to work.

Concerts will return, sports will return, and everything will return to normal, but it won’t happen on our timing, it will happen on God’s timing. Be patient and trust Him.

God Bless and be safe.

Make Every Effort to Do Tomorrow’s Work Today Because Tomorrow Never Comes

In life, we find ourselves saying “I’ll do it tomorrow” or “I’ll finish it tomorrow” but if you really think about it, everyday has a ‘tomorrow’ so tomorrow never really comes.

We never see tomorrow if you really think about it. So do whatever you were planning to put off until tomorrow, today.

There really is no such thing as ‘tomorrow’. If we all waited until tomorrow to take action, we would never get anywhere.

If Steve Jobs had waited until tomorrow to found Apple, we wouldn’t have all of the technology that we have at our fingertips today.

If Sam Walton had waited until tomorrow to found Walmart, where would we buy the things that we need on a daily basis.

If we waited until tomorrow to tell the ones we love that we love them, we would never get the opportunity, if you think about it.

Don’t take advantage of tomorrow, take advantage of today. Realistically, none of us have ever seen tomorrow.

Do what you want today, because you never know what the next day holds.

I know that sounds cliche, but it’s true. None of us have ever seen tomorrow because each day has its own tomorrow.

Use today to get tomorrow’s work done, use today to bring you closer to your dream.

Imagine how much we would be missing if we waited until tomorrow to do anything.

Treat tomorrow as if it doesn’t exist, because in reality, it doesn’t.

Do what you feel is right today, because tomorrow will never come, tomorrow will always be tomorrow.

Live for today, don’t wait until tomorrow to start living your life because by then, it’ll be too late.

Why do we all worry about tomorrow as if it is promised?

We need to be worried about today because tomorrow will never come.

Never Let Anybody Tell You That You Can’t Be Great

People will tell you that you can’t or won’t do something. When they tell you that, don’t tell them that they are wrong show them that they are wrong. Words mean nothing, actions do.

My early-life wasn’t the easiest, I had doctors and nurses tell me that I would never live life outside of the four walls of a hospital.

They told me I didn’t have a chance at living life without their help. Early on in life, I suffered from gangrene, ruptured intestines, a stroke and I live daily with cerebral palsy.

No, things aren’t as easy for me to do as they might be for a person that doesn’t have cerebral palsy, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t do it.

When people tell you that you can’t or won’t do something, work for it, take those words and shove them down their throats.

The fact of the matter is, you can be great, but are you willing to encounter adversity? Do you have the courage to stick it out when life knocks you down?

Do you have the strength that it takes to overcome adversity.

No matter what race or gender you are, you can achieve anything you want if you are willing to encounter what is going to come your way and try to knock you out?

Success doesn’t discriminate, anybody can be successful, but if you want to be great?

You determine your future, nobody determines your future but you. You are the only one that can decide now what your future contains. Will you let the doubters win, or will you knock them out?

Leave a LEGACY.

You have what it takes to be great, but do you have what it takes to be greater than the great? Don’t be satisfied.

What will your legacy be?

You Don’t Have to Have a College Degree to Be Successful

People often try to tell us at a young age that you have to go to college in order to be successful.

But in reality, college just isn’t for some of us for one reason or another.

You see, there are millionaires and billionaires out there that don’t have a college degree.

Maybe they went to college and dropped out, maybe they never went to college, but they are still successful.

I don’t have a college degree. I’m a college dropout. Most people won’t tell you that they dropped out of college, but I will gladly tell you that, not to seek attention from you, but to prove to you that college isn’t everything.

Yes, having a college degree would open a lot more doors for me and give me opportunities that I don’t have.

But it just wasn’t for me. Yes, there are times that I wish I had stuck it out and gotten a degree but there’s also a part of me that is thankful that I dropped out of college.

I never really liked school to begin with, in fact, when I was little, I would tell people that PE was my favorite subject in school.

No, PE isn’t necessarily a “subject”, but it’s what I enjoyed the most. I wasn’t the best math student.

Even though, you can ask me anything about sports stats and I can tell you everything you need or want to know.

Success without a college degree is harder to achieve than with a college degree, but I’ve always been one to procrastinate and take the long way around things.

I promise, I’m not the only one who has ever been successful and not finished college.

Yes, it takes longer to succeed without a degree, but for some of us, that’s the way our story was written.

When I was about five or six, I already knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

When I got to college, I felt like school was just holding me back, I felt like I didn’t need science for my occupation, I didn’t need most of the courses that I took.

Not because they weren’t important, but because I already knew I wouldn’t need science to be successful in my field.

I knew what it took, and I knew I had what it took.

So I decided to drop out of college and I’ve still heard ‘You need to go to college’, or ‘Get back in school’ over the past three years.

But I knew I didn’t necessarily need a degree to be successful, because of the work I had put in at an early age.

Sometimes, God puts us in certain situations not to tear us down, but to build us up.

You see, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Michael Dell, are just a few successful people who never finished college and look at them now.

It’s not college or bust, I never really understood why people would tell us that in school.

If you already know what you want out of life and you have what it takes, why waste time and money doing something that you don’t necessarily need.

I’m a seven-year broadcaster, who dropped out of college. I started broadcasting at age 15, why would I waste time and money doing something that doesn’t fit me?

Broadcasting has taken me places over the past six years, that I never dreamed of going.

It has given me the opportunity to work alongside and meet some of the people that I idolized as a kid.

Being successful without a college degree is possible. Yes, a college degree would be nice, but it’s just a piece of paper.

You can be successful without a college degree.

Be Relentless: People Will Doubt You For the Rest of Your LIFE

No matter what you do, even if it’s the right thing, people will doubt you for the rest of your life.

Don’t listen to them, go out there and make them eat their words. People will say things like, “You’ll never be anything in life”, “You’ll never do anything,” you’ll never accomplish that,” and so many other things along those lines.

Take those statements and use them to fuel the fire inside of you. You will have doubters your whole life.

But it’s all about how you view those statements. You can either use them to inspire you or you can choose to believe them and live a miserable life.

People will constantly try to crush your dreams. That’s just the way some people in this world are, they find satisfaction in dragging you and your dreams down.

You have to be willing to show them that they did nothing but inspire you to work harder.

While they think they’re killing you mentally, all they did was feed the lion that is within you.

You can’t listen to everything people say. You have to be relentless. You have to take those words, use them as motivation, and remember what those people said when you feel like giving up.

You see, if you give up on your dreams, all you will do is prove that those people that doubted you were right in the beginning, you are admitting that you are mentally weak.

If you don’t take those words and remember them when life knocks you off of your feet, you won’t be successful.

If you let the doubters win, you are admitting that they are mentally stronger than you are.

People will try to delay the timing of your dream every single day of your life.

Don’t let those people control you mentally you must believe in yourself and your dream.

You must use the words people say as mental fuel. You have a lion in you, don’t let your doubters win. Keep going, keep pushing, keep moving forward.

Failure doesn’t exist, nothing is limiting you. The world is yours for the taking.

Everything you have ever wanted to achieve is right in front of you.

Everything you ever wanted is staring you right in the eyes.

It’s your responsibility to fight for what you want.

Don’t stop fighting until you are standing on top of the world. You have what it takes to accomplish everything you ever wanted.

But do you want it bad enough? Are you hungry enough to chase your dream?

Find that lion inside of you, keep feeding it motivation, one day, that lion will roar, one day you will have everything you had ever dreamt of. One day, you will stand on top of the world.

In Order to Accomplish Your Dream, You Have to Be in the Right Environment

As I type this, I’m listening to motivational speaker, Les Brown, and said something that really caught my attention.

You can accomplish any goal or dream that you might have in this life if you have the right mindset.

But, mindset isn’t everything, the environment also a lot to do with your success rate and so do the people that you surround yourself with.

Just a few minutes ago, Les said “Everybody don’t want you to win, everybody won’t be a part of your dream, you have to ask yourself, ‘”Who can I count on and who can I count out.'”

You see, when I heard that, it dawned on me, there are people that are just in your life because it benefits them.

Those people aren’t meant to be a part of your dream, they just want to be associated with you.

Everybody won’t be in your corner, there are people who will be in the opposite corner rooting against you, but will act like they are in your corner when they are around you.

Then, there are people who will be in your corner and support you no matter what, those are the people that you need to surround yourself with.

Don’t keep surrounding yourself with people who are in the opposite corner, surround yourself with people who will be in your corner no matter what.

Surround yourself with people who aren’t just around you to benefit from your past successes because those are the ones that will be with you even after you have reached your dream.

Without the right environment, you are not going to succeed, find the right environment for yourself and stay there, don’t let those who are just around you because it’s convenient.

You have the power in you to create a better life. But are you willing to sacrifice those people that drag you down, in order to find those who will bring you to the top?

Don’t Let 2019 Affect Your 2020

Often times, we find ourselves letting the previous year’s mistakes shape the next 365 days of our lives.

We look back on previous years regretting the times that we had an opportunity to do something, but we didn’t take advantage of those opportunities when they arose.

We may find ourselves thinking about the negative things that happened in the previous 365 days, most of which we could’ve avoided.

You may also may find yourself looking back on the “failures” of the year that has gone by and we often carry that into the new year with us.

The truth is, there is no such thing as failure, those times are called lessons and if we don’t learn to leave those failures in the past but take the lessons with us, then we will live a life full of regret.

Don’t let what’s gone affect the present. There are 365 days in a year, that’s 365 new days to better yourself from previous versions of what you were in the days gone by.

Live life without regrets and you will live a rich life. What you’ve done in the past doesn’t matter now. Nothing matters except for living the rest of your life without regret.

What’s in the past is there for a reason, live the next 365 days regret-free.

Don’t let 2019 have an affect on 2020.
