Why I Decided to Start A Blog

I decided to start a blog after months, even years of pondering on what I wanted the title to be and recently, a title dawned on me. With me being a sports broadcaster I found it fitting to name it Braxton’s Broadcast. I’ve worked in a broadcast booth ever since I was a sophomore in high school as an announcer. I’ve always known that I wanted to be an announcer and that dream became a reality when the high school baseball coach at the time approached me one day as I was sitting in the dugout at Bazemore Field at my alma mater, Wetumpka High School and asked if I would be interested in announcing the second game of a doubleheader against Alabama Christian Academy. We had won the first game 5-3, so I figured why not. So I took the coach’s offer up and exited the dugout and made a beeline for the press box in hopes of bringing Wetumpka to a sweep. Unsure of what was in store at the time, I swallowed my pride and tried my hand at my dream. We ended up getting the sweep by a final score of 10-5 and from that moment on I knew this is what I wanted to do for a living one day. I had spent countless days, weeks, months and years preparing for this moment and it was finally a reality. Moral of the story, never give up on your dreams no matter what they might be. Don’t sit around and wait for your dream come to you, go make it happen.
